Jo isn't so sure Death Masks Paperback Jim Butcher. Depends on who is talking. She is a cute spitfire and I loved her character from the get go. Unfortunately, the Alpha in the group wants her to marry his son. That's a whole other story there that I won't get into because frankly it would spoil the surprise. The extremes she goes to get out of her engagement is at times comical especially when she drags in Mike.

Together I loved their characters. Actually I loved all the characters in this story. My second favorite pair is Westley and Chris See sidebar below. Now, normally I like my paranormal romances all sexed-up, but there isn't much more than kissing plus a little extra to be found in this book.

Nevertheless, I found the romance between Mike and Anne to be more than enough to carry me through. There were so many twists in this story that just when I had things figured out, a curve-ball would come in and surprise me. I do love a story that keeps me guessing and when I fished this book I was one happy reader with all the HEAs. On a sidebar note. I normal read then review ASAP before heading to my next book. Chris and Westley are just too cute together and I needed to know what their story was.

I was so not disappointed. Because these two books are very closely related I highly suggest being prepared and get them both together and reading them back to back. I am just loving this series. Author Mandy Rosko has definitely found a new fan in me. As a fan of paranormals, I know a lot of folks are going to enjoy this series as much as I have. With the exception of my previous note regarding The Dragon And The Wolf, the full novels of this series work well as stand-alones.

Having never read the first book, I can vouch for the fact that it works just fine as a standalone novel. The beginning of the book gives a little bit of background on the main character, Mike Carter, who is a psychic detective. 5. The events and characters are unique. She does a great job bringing the characters to live and getting to know them is quite enjoyable. The story is based in a modern type era, with fantastical creatures and events. Unfortunately a lot is lost amidst the mass amount of typos that seem to be endless. There are grammar errors, misspellings and missing words.

It is quite distracting and really detracts from the wonderful story that is going on. Not only are there typos, but there are also 2 glaring mistakes in the sequence of events. The second event was towards the end of the book when they talk about needing to come back to destroy a castle, and then later there is talk about how the castle was already destroyed, but given the sequence of events this is impossible. All of these things lend to discredit for the author.

I also find this lack of editing quite disdainful due to the fact that I was reading from a paperback novel. I want to reiterate that Mandy did a really great job writing an interesting story with great events and bringing her characters to life, given all of the bad edits I would have given this book only 2 stars, but because the story is so great, I rest on 3 stars. With a better scrub and edit this book would easily be a 4 or 5 star story.

If you are into Fantasy, Paranormal, Fiction, Romance, Mystery, and modern-themed stories, this book is for you. Jul 27, Lisa rated it really liked it. I was ready to put the book down for a break when I just so happened to read a revelation that was a big game changer… so of course I plowed through the rest because I needed to see how it would end! With that being said, I am also getting kind of annoyed with the instalove attraction going on between main characters in this series. Although it seemed more believable in the first book of the series, seeing it again in the 1.

A very fast paced and action packed story. Wild magic flying about everywhere. The story plays out in very unexpected ways. Our villain is incredibly powerful and seems impossible to beat. This is the second book in a series but you can read it as a stand alone. I loved it. Jul 31, Linz rated it really liked it. This is another great book, Mandy's origin story of werewolves and how mistaken identity impacts on a small group of shifters, could not put it down and went straight onto The Dragon and the Wolf which is a prequel short story to this book and explains how 2 of the charters from legend met and fall in love, but how parental opinion keeps them apart.

Also read The Shepards Ago read The Curse of the Vampire the first in this series and was hooked so couldn't wait to read the rest of this series. I received this book free for giving an honest review I loved how this story went. Annie saving Mike at first because of a very old legend only to find her mate in Mike in the end. I don't want to give anything major away but I was pleased with how it all ended :- and it did have me wondering if Mike and Annie might actual be Luna and Edward reincarnated for awhile. Jul 29, Raina Collins rated it really liked it. Second book in the series.
